Janis McCormack
Receptionist
Janis moved to West Plains, Missouri in
February, 2008 from Southern California, where she was successfully
self-employed at her pet store. Prior to that position, she
was the Director of Riverside County Department of Animal Services
for over 4 years. She earned her B.S. at the University of
Illinois School of Agriculture, where her major was Animal Science.
She graduated from the U of I in 1996 at the ripe old age of 44
years old, which goes to show it's never too late to get an
education!
After graduation, she went to work for
Kankakee Animal Control as their Coordinator/Director for 3.5 years.
She was able to get her experience in the animal clinic field while
she was in college working at a thriving practice in Bourbonnais,
Illinois and after college at an established animal hospital in
Marshfield, Wisconsin. She is originally from Chicago,
Illinois.
She and her husband, Dennis, have 3 dogs
named Molly, Maggie, and Gretchen, a paint horse named Dixie, and
numerous barn cats. So far, she says she has found her life in
West Plains to be a very pleasant experience and her employment at
the Animal Clinic of West Plains to be extremely rewarding.
