Zach 2003-2010Zach was our resident Labrador Retriever and a well-known face at the Clinic. He belonged to Dr. Ulmanis, but spent his days in the Clinic in the front office and was cared for and loved by everyone. Zach was a trained hunting dog who sired two beautiful litters. He loveed to swim and play and would eat practically anything. He lived at the Clinic for all of his 7 years, during which time he helped save a number of very sick patients by donating much-needed blood for transfusions. Update: Zach had not been feeling well for some time. A few days before Christmas 2009, Dr. Ulmanis took Zach to Columbia for a CT Scan and it was discovered that he has a tumor growing on his pituitary gland. It is called a pituitary adenoma. The tumor is inoperable. We were treating the symptoms, but were unable to cure him. On February 15, 2010, we said our last goodbyes and wished our beloved friend a safe journey. |
